Where the Story Begins
When you travel through opal country, the landscape tells its own story; endless blue skies, red earth, spinifex, and gidgee trees. It’s a landscape unlike anywhere else, and for over 25 years, it was part of our family’s life.
Our mine, Big Red, was located south of Winton in outback Queensland. From that earth came some of the world’s most striking boulder opal shaped by time, pressure, and the elements.
Though we’ve now retired from mining, we continue to cut and craft the rough opal gathered during those years, keeping its story alive through every piece we make.
At Lurlina, we design jewellery that reflects this heritage, real gemstones, Australian craftsmanship, and timeless design. Each piece captures a little of the outback’s colour and character, made to be worn and treasured for a lifetime.
