Welcome to the December Birthstone Collection, Australian boulder opal jewellery paired with zircon and tanzanite for cool sparkle and rich blue-violet colour. Traditionally, December birthstones were turquoise and lapis lazuli, loved for their bold, matte blues. Modern interpretations have added two brighter, more light-catching stones, zircon and tanzanite, and that’s what we feature here.

Zircon brings crisp, bright brilliance, while tanzanite adds a saturated blue to violet glow. Set alongside solid Queensland boulder opal, with natural ironstone depth and shifting colour play, the result is luminous, modern, and unmistakably one of a kind.

Zircons have often been confused with Cubic Zirconia, but they couldn't be further apart in composition. Zircons are a natural gem with strong fire, and Cubic Zirconia is a synthetic diamond substitute.

We look to feature Australian zircons wherever possible, as they are know for being some of the best in the world. They predominantly come from the Hart's Range area of the Northern Territory.
